A new culinary chapter is set to unfold in San Diego's Pacific Beach as Himalayan Spice & Savor Indian Cuisine prepares to take over the former Tweety Thai location, bringing authentic Indian flavors to the coastal neighborhood.Ìý

Owned by Murari Timalsina, a seasoned restaurateur born and raised on the Himalayan-Tibetan plateau with decades of experience in the Indian food industry, this venture will mark the fourth planned location for the Himalayan Taste Indian Cuisine brand. Currently, two locations - San Juan Capistrano and Temecula - operate successfully, boasting 4.7-star Yelp ratings with over 400 reviews each, while the Menifee branch remains unopened with an unknown status. Timalsina also runs Bhatti Himalayan Grill on Murphy Canyon Road on the border of Serra Mesa and Tierrasanta in San Diego.Ìý

Drawing from his secret recipes, honed to rival top Indian restaurants, the menu at Himalayan Spice & Savor will feature dishes like Chicken Tandoori, Lamb Korma, Shrimp Curry, Saag Paneer, and Mushroom Tikka Masala, alongside vegetarian options, with a potential tandoori focus, all crafted with premium ingredients in a welcoming atmosphere. There will also be a beer and wine menu.

Tweety Thai, a longtime local favorite known for its Thai noodles, soups, rice dishes, and vegetarian offerings, closed within Pacific PlazaÌýin early 2024 after several years at the Garnet Avenue address. The small retail complex also hosts a Vons and a mix of eateries like Konito's Cafe and incoming locations of Dunkin's and Jimmy John's Sandwich Shop
