Founded in 2008 by hospitality industry veterans Mike Georgopoulos, Dave Renzella, and Dan Renzella, RMD Group has established a reputation for quality dining experiences with concepts like Rustic Root, Huntress steakhouse, Lumi by Akira Back, and Swing Social. Over the years, the group has also navigated the dynamic restaurant scene by selling or closing several other ventures including FLUXX Nightclub, F6ix, Sidebar, and Salvucci's.
The new Rustic Root will be located at the Sandbox Solana Beach Apartments off Highway 101. Unlike its downtown counterpart, this location will not feature a rooftop area but will maintain the essence of Rustic Root's "New American" comfort food, infused with California cuisine flair. The restaurant promises a full bar experience with craft cocktails, local beers, and a curated wine list.
The dinner menu at Rustic Root Solana Beach is designed to offer a variety of comforting and innovative dishes. Among the shareables, guests can look forward to indulging in Homestyle Butter Biscuits served with artisanal maple pecan and charred jalapeño butter, or the Maryland Crab Cake, a jumbo lump blue crab cake with a zesty serrano remoulade. For those with a sweet tooth, the Cast Iron Skillet Cornbread with honey, artisanal maple pecan, and charred jalapeño butter is a must-try.Ìý
