The original A Little Moore Café closed in 2023 when the lease at its previous location wasn’t renewed, leaving a void in the hearts of locals. Encinitas natives Andy Vasquez and Deon Dickey stepped in to preserve its legacy, acquiring the business name and intellectual property from original owner Chang Han to bring it back to life.
Their search for a new location led them to 698 North Coast Highway 101, where fate played a role. This site sits adjacent to Leucadia Barbershop, another business displaced from the original location. The pair found it fitting to share a new home with a fellow local business that also holds sentimental value in the community.
The new iteration of A Little Moore Café retains much of the original charm by salvaging key elements like the retro-style bar, booths, and barstools. The menu has been refreshed, offering a mix of classic diner fare and modern dishes, available for breakfast and lunch. Alcohol service, which will include options like mimosas, beer, and wine, is still awaiting permits, but the café will immediately offer coffee and an expanded selection of breakfast and lunch items.
A Little Moore Café reopen on January 19, at 7am, at 698 N. Coast Highway 101 in San Diego's North County community of Leucadia. For more information, follow A Little Moore Café on Instagram and check out the menu below.
