The Presley Outdoor Restaurant Closing In San Diego's Liberty Station

After more than four years in business, Good Time Design hospitality group has announced the closure of The Presley, its outdoor restaurant located in San Diego's Liberty Station.

Founded in 2006 by local businessman and hospitality entrepreneur Ty Hauter, Good Time Design is known for its portfolio of vibrant venues. The company initially gained traction with The Double Deuce, The Tipsy Crow, and the original Whiskey Girl, all of which have since been sold. Today, Good Time Design operates approximately a dozen venues in San Diego, CA, and Nashville, TN, including the newly unveiled Cerveza Jack's in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, which opened today.

Good Time Design's presence in Liberty Station began in 2020, following the loss of its five-year lease at the historic Loma Club in Point Loma in December 2019. The company took over the space formerly occupied by Fireside by The Patio, which closed in late 2019 after its founder, Gina Champion-Cain, faced allegations of a $300 million fraud scheme. The Presley opened in the space during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, offering an expansive outdoor dining experience.

In 2022, Good Time Design expanded its footprint in Liberty Station by launching Go Go Amigo in the 8,800-square-foot neighboring space that previously housed El Jardin. However, Go Go AmigoÌýshuttered earlier this year, signaling challenges for the company's ventures in the area.

Now, The Presley has announced its impending closure, with its final day of service set for Sunday, December 22nd. The company released the following statement:

"To our Liberty Station/Point Loma community: The Presley will be closed permanently as of Sunday, December 22nd. Today will be our last day of business. It has been an honor to serve this amazing community for 4+ years! We opened in the thick of the pandemic in 2020 and, with your help, created a safe, fun space to eat, drink and enjoy everything San Diego has to offer. Unfortunately, we were unable to overcome the rising costs, economic challenges, and the many complex issues that restaurants face today. To our staff - thank you for everything. To our customers - we will miss you all (and your dogs) but will cherish every memory made here forever. Thanks for the amazing years!"

As of now, there is no word on what will replace The Presley in its Liberty Station location. Stay tuned to San Diego Light for updates on this story.
