Founded by Murray Wishengrad in Encino, California, in 2003, The Stand has grown to 20 locations across Southern California, with one branch in Texas. Known for its customizable takes on American classics, The Stand first entered the San Diego market in September 2023 with a location at the Carmel Mountain Ranch Home Center.
The second San Diego branch of The Stand will open in a former US Bank space within a retail shopping center in Santee that includes Sprouts and Walgreens. As with its other locations, the menu will feature a wide variety of made-to-order options, including burgers, sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, wraps, fries, and other sides. Diners will also be able enjoy craft beer, wine, milkshakes, and floats.
