Marine Veteran Talisin Burton's Burton Foods operates 15 Dunkin鈥� locations in San Diego and has exclusive rights to bring 27 Jimmy John鈥檚 franchises to the region. The dual locations blend the strengths of both brands: Dunkin鈥檚 beloved coffee and baked goods with Jimmy John鈥檚 "Freaky Fast" sandwiches, making it a convenient one-stop shop for customers. Burton Foods intends to open additional combined Jimmy John's and Dunkin fast-casual eateries all around San Diego, including in the San Diego State University College Area and听Pacific Beach.听
The new Kearny Mesa outlet will install in the 2,590 square-foot former KFC building on Convoy Street and mark the latest co-branded outlet for Burton Foods, following the successful debut of a combined Jimmy John鈥檚 and Dunkin鈥� in Downtown San Diego in late 2023. This will be one of the first joint locations of the two concepts to have a drive-thru ordering system.听
This new location will feature Dunkin's "Next Generation鈥�"restaurant design, known for its modern, eco-friendly layout and innovative features such as a dedicated drive-thru lane for mobile orders. Jimmy John's menu will showcase its signature gourmet sandwiches, including favorites like the Spicy East Coast Italian and the Jimmy Cubano.
The dual-brand concept reflects a broader strategy by Inspire Brands, the parent company of both Dunkin鈥� and Jimmy John鈥檚. Inspire Brands, the second-largest restaurant conglomerate in the U.S., has encouraged cross-brand synergies among its portfolio, which also includes chains like Arby鈥檚 and Baskin-Robbins.
