San Diego's popular plant-based pop-up turned diner & deli, Anthem Vegan, has announced that it will be opening a hub in San Diego's South County.
The 100% plant-based Anthem Vegan was founded in 2013 by Patrick Murray, who began as a weekly, invite-only pop-up called Vegan Speakaeasy Brunch, which eventually grew from a supper clubn & catering company into a farmers market & brewery vendor. The menu of indulgent, mock-meat dishes, reminiscent of omnivore favorites, quickly made Anthem a popular destination for vegans and carnivores alike. In early 2018, after a successful Kickstarter campaign the year prior, Anthem Vegan opened its first brick-and-mortar at the 4,000+ square-foot space at 2611 El Cajon Boulevard in the heart of North Park.
Anthem Vegan will soon install what is being dubbed the "Southland Anthem Annex" within Brew Bar coffee shop on 3rd Avenue in the heart of Chula Vista. The South County branch will launch with a complete vegan lunch & dinner menu to start before adding brunch in the near future. Expect plant-based specialties like the pulled "porque" sandwich made with jackfruit, the quinoa black bean tacos, Philly cheese"steaks", quesadillas, burritos and much more.
"The space is currently a really cool specialty beverage bar called Brew Bar that serves high-end teas, great craft beer, and an extensive list of wines and ports," explained Anthem Vegan founder Patrick Murray. "It’s on 3rd Avenue right in the center of downtown. We will serve lunch and dinner to start with apps, burgers, tacos, burritos and sandwiches. We will hand deliver food to the immediate area and offer delivery via Door Dash. We don’t have an opening date yet but will it be before April. We will be closed on Mondays. Weekend brunch won't be immediate but it is on the way!"
Anthem Vegan's Southland Anthem Annex will sit within Brew Bar at 277 3rd Avenue in Chula Vista. For more information, visit .
