CH Projects Sells Rare Form & Fairweather In San Diego's East Village

March 13, 2017

CH Projects Petco Park-adjacent dual concepts Rare Form & Fairweather, which opened in the Simon Levi building in August 2014, have been sold and are now under new ownership.

SDSU-grad Mark Harp, who owns the Coastal Crave Cocktails in Bay Park and previously operated now-defunt Sky Box Sports Grill in Clairemont, is now one of the co-owners of Rare Form and its second-story rooftop patio bar Fairweather. Along with Edward Lang, the duo finalized the purchase of the business from CH Projects earlier this year and currently do not intend to make many changes to either concept.

We caught wind of a rumor that CH Projects was attempting to sell Rare Form & Fairweather last summer, but when we reached out to the company's founder Arsalun Tafazoli he expressly denied listing the businesses, responding "Rare form is not for sale who told you that?"

We contacted Rare Form earlier today and an employee stated that she had just learned of the sale recently and was of the information and belief that the first story eatery would remain a modern neighborhood delicatessen and schnapps bar, while Fairweather would continue as a colorful rooftop cocktail-forward patio bar. New owner Mark Harp confirmed that they did not plan to change either concept.Ìý
