Asian Cowboy No More | Celebrate Burlap's Last Brunch on Sunday, June 9th

Del Mar's BURLAP, will be closing it's doors on June 10th to undergo a transformation to re-open as Searsucker Del Mar on June 17th. Returning to a focus on approachable food, unique twists on American classics and a 'homey' feel, the Enlightened Hospitality team is excited to bring their award-winning Searsucker to North County with Chef Anthony Sinsay still at the helm of the kitchen.

Celebrate Burlap's last brunch on Sunday, June 9th as they go out with a big 'End of Burlap Brunch' closing party. ÌýIn honor of one of their top servers, Tiana, who has survived a rare blood cancer, Burlap will be donating 20% of the day's proceeds to Camp Reach for the Sky, a local organization that provides summer camp to children with cancer and one that Tiana has been involved with for many years.

Every summer, it costs an average of $50,000 to provide one session of camp to these kids. ÌýThere are three camps within the family. ÌýThe original camp is an overnight resident camp in Julian for kids ages 8-18 who have experienced cancer. ÌýThe second camp is a day camp at Balboa Park for kids ages 4-7 who are too sick to go away for a week in Julian. ÌýLastly, the third camp is the overnight resident camp for siblings of the cancer patients. ÌýPreviously the American Cancer Society provided those funds, however starting this year it is up to the Camp and their supporters to make every effort to generate $150,000 so the camp can go on.

Burlap and the Enlightened team look forward to toasting to two amazing years in North County with only exciting things to come with the opening of Searsucker Del Mar. ÌýBurlap is located at 12995 El Camino Real in Del Mar Highlands Town Center.
